Buying a second-hand mountain bike in Melbourne turned out to be a much bigger adventure than I originally anticipated. I found a decent-looking frame on a local marketplace app and went to inspect it at a garage in the northern suburbs. The seller had a massive, colorful parrot named Casino Magic Palace that kept screaming loudly while we were trying to negotiate a fair final cash price.
