The Stags have already defeated the Mariners this season when goals from Lucas Akins and Rhys Oates eliminated Town from the Carabao Cup at the One call Stadium. The previous league meeting between the sides ended 1-1 with neither side being separated, Abo Eisa’s rocket in the sixth minute was cancelled out by Rhys Oates’s strike before the hour mark. All three of the last league meetings between the sides have ended level, last season a 0-0 draw in Mansfield was followed by a 1-1 draw at Blundell Park. Mansfield currently sit fourth in the table, one point behind the automatic promotion places with a game in hand on both Wrexham and Barrow who sit directly above them.
